21st June 2012 - HSBC Arena
Sustainability Reporting and Corporate Accountability: 20 years of debate on the role of the private sector in sustainable development. Is a Report or Explain Approach to Sustainability Reporting the Way Forward
Organised by The Global Reporting Initiative in partnership with Stakeholder Forum, Vitae Civilis, BVM&FBOVESPA, and IBGC. The event was a multi-stakeholder roundtable, with direct questions to participants of the dialogue. Objectives of the event included discussion of the role of the private sector in sustainable development; exploration of ways to engage companies and hold them accountable; investigation of what has been done and what still needs to be done; and finally understanding of views on corporate transparency through sustainability reporting. The event was the launch of 'Friends of Paragraph 47' a group formed by Denmark, France, South Africa and Brazil who will lead on the process forward.

1st May 2012 - New York
Moving Towards Meaningful Private Sector Contribution to Sustainable Development
On May 1st, the Dialogue on a Convention for Corporate Sustainability and Accountability (convened by Stakeholder Forum and Vitae Civilis), the Global Reporting Initiative and Aviva Investors organized the side event ‘Moving towards Meaningful Private Sector Contribution to Sustainable Development’, during the second round of 'informal-informal' negotiations in New York. 27th March 2012 - New York
The event was held to discuss the relevance of having an International Framework for Corporate Sustainability and especially, to present the current proposals to develop such framework drawing on evidence and examples from governments, international organizations, stock exchanges and a number of private initiatives. 2nd March 2012 - New Economics Institute
This roundtable provided the platform to discuss the proposal for a CSRA Convention at Rio+20, and why exactly this is needed now. The background of this proposal within the UN was explained, along with perspectives from Governments and the Private Sector. Read the full details here.

The event was part of the events organised around the launch of the report: Resilient People, Resilient Planet: A future worth choosing.
